Few phones are tested as hard as the one you use to photograph your food. Dim restaurant lighting, steam rising off a fresh bowl and friends waiting to eat will show you quickly whether a camera is any good.

Samsung gave Malaysian buyers two chances to upgrade this year, with the Galaxy S26 series in March and the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Z Flip8 series in August. If you are comparing them, the practical questions are when each one launched and where to buy a genuine unit.

KTS Cellular, a Samsung Master Dealer since 2012, lists several of these models on its online store.

When the Samsung Galaxy S26 Series Launched in Malaysia

The Samsung Galaxy S26 series reached general availability in Malaysia on 11 March 2026. Pre-orders opened on 26 February 2026 Malaysian time, right after Samsung revealed the lineup at Galaxy Unpacked, and ran until 10 March.

The series has three models, the Galaxy S26, the Galaxy S26+ and the Galaxy S26 Ultra. At launch, Samsung priced the 512GB Galaxy S26 at RM5,199 and the Galaxy S26 Ultra from RM6,799 for 512GB, with a 1TB Ultra at RM7,999.

A more affordable Galaxy S26 FE was announced for Malaysia in late August 2026, starting from RM2,499.

When the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Z Flip8 Launched in Malaysia

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold8, Z Fold8 Ultra and Z Flip8 at Galaxy Unpacked in London on 22 July 2026, and Malaysian pre-orders opened the same day. Pre-orders ran until 13 August, and Samsung’s launch promotion for general sales ran from 14 August to 4 October 2026.

That promotion has now ended, so check the current price on each product page before you decide.

Samsung set the 256GB Galaxy Z Flip8 at RM5,399, the Galaxy Z Fold8 at RM7,299 and the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra at RM8,099. The Fold8 starts below the RM7,799 that Samsung charged for the Fold7 last year, while the Flip8 sits above the RM4,999 starting price of the Flip7.

Which Samsung Galaxy Model Suits You Best

Each model answers a different need, so it helps to match the phone to how you actually use it.

1. Galaxy S26 for Everyday Use

The Galaxy S26 has a 6.3-inch Dynamic LTPO AMOLED display, a 50MP triple rear camera and a 12MP front camera, according to the KTS Cellular product page. Nightography is the feature worth noting if you eat out often, since it is built to keep shadows and highlights clear in low light.

The same page lists Photo Assist, which edits a picture from a short text description, and Now Brief, which sends small reminders such as booking details through the day. The phone runs Android 16 with One UI 8.5.

You can see the full specification on the page for the Samsung Galaxy S26 in Malaysia. At the time of writing, it was listed at RM4,399, reduced from RM5,199, with 12GB of memory and a choice of 256GB or 512GB storage in Cobalt Violet, Black, Sky Blue and White.

2. Galaxy S26 Ultra for Maximum Camera Range

The Galaxy S26 Ultra has a 6.9-inch display, a 200MP main camera and the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor. It also offers 5x optical zoom, which helps when you want to photograph a dish from across the table.

The listing for the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is the place to confirm current pricing and availability.

3. Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra for a Large Screen

The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra opens to an 8-inch main display and has a 6.5-inch cover screen. Its rear cameras include a 200MP main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide and a 10MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom.

The standard Galaxy Z Fold8 has no telephoto camera, which is the main reason to step up. Samsung describes the Fold8 Ultra as its most advanced premium foldable experience, and you can check the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra listing for what is in stock.

4. Galaxy Z Flip8 for Pocket Size

The Galaxy Z Flip8 is the clamshell of the group, with a 6.9-inch main display that folds down to pocket size. Its FlexWindow cover screen shows widgets, so you can check quick information without opening the phone.

It runs an Exynos 2600 with 12GB of memory, and it is the most affordable of the three foldables.

Storage and Colour Options to Compare Before You Order

Storage sizes change the price more than most buyers expect. The Galaxy Z Fold8 comes in 256GB, 512GB and 1TB at RM7,299, RM8,099 and RM9,699, while the Fold8 Ultra costs RM8,099, RM8,899 and RM10,499 across the same three sizes. The Z Flip8 comes in 256GB at RM5,399 and 512GB at RM6,199.

Retail colours also differ by model. The Fold8 Ultra is sold in Graphite, Cream and Violet Shadow, the Flip8 in Graphite, Cream and Pink, and the Fold8 in Lavender and Graphite among others.

These are Samsung launch prices, so the figure on a dealer page can differ.

Where to Buy Samsung Galaxy Phones in Malaysia

Buying from an authorised seller means your phone comes with the local Samsung warranty. In Malaysia, you can choose between Samsung Malaysia itself, the telcos, authorised dealers and electrical retail chains.

1. Samsung Malaysia

Samsung Malaysia sells the Galaxy range through its official website at samsung.com/my, and that is where the Galaxy S26 series pre-orders opened in February. It also ran the Haus of Fold Roadshow for the Galaxy Z Fold8, Z Fold8 Ultra and Z Flip8, which let buyers handle the foldables in person.

Samsung’s launch offers for the Z series have ended, so check the current ones before you order.

2. Maxis, CelcomDigi and Other Telcos

Maxis, CelcomDigi, U Mobile and Yes 5G all ran pre-order offers for the Galaxy Z Fold8, Z Fold8 Ultra and Z Flip8. A telco is worth considering if you want the phone bundled with a postpaid plan.

Terms differ from one plan to the next, so compare the monthly commitment against the phone price before you sign up.

3. KTS Cellular

KTS Cellular, a Samsung Authorized Dealer with original manufacturer warranties, and the Galaxy S26 listing is marked as ready stock with a 1 year warranty by Samsung Malaysia.

The store accepts 0% instalment plans of up to 24 months with CIMB, Maybank, UOB, RHB and AFFIN Bank, as well as GrabPay, Touch ‘n Go eWallet and SPayLater. At the time of writing, the Galaxy S26 page also showed up to RM600 off for the 512GB model using a bank card code and a KTS Cellular code, with terms applying.

Shipping is free to West Malaysia and takes an estimated 2 to 3 business days. Samsung products ordered before 3 PM within the Klang Valley are eligible for same-day delivery.

If you prefer to handle the phone first, KTS Cellular operates more than 10 physical stores, including Samsung Experience Stores. Locations include Aeon Mall Bukit Raja in Klang, EcoHill Mall in Semenyih and Tun Razak Exchange in Kuala Lumpur.

4. Senheng

Senheng is a Malaysian electrical retailer that has offered Samsung Galaxy models in its stores, including 0% instalment promotions on selected devices. It suits you if you already shop there for home appliances and want to buy a phone in the same visit.

Stock differs by branch, so ask whether the Galaxy S26, Z Fold8 or Z Flip8 is available before you make the trip.

5. Harvey Norman

Harvey Norman is another electrical retailer that has sold Samsung Galaxy phones in Malaysia and joined Samsung’s instalment promotions. Check with your nearest branch for current stock and pricing on the newer models.

Choosing Your Next Samsung Galaxy in Malaysia

If you are looking for the most affordable entry point into the S26 series, the Galaxy S26 is worth considering. The Galaxy S26 Ultra is a better fit if camera capabilities are your priority, while the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra suits those who want a larger screen for multitasking. If portability matters most, the Galaxy Z Flip8 offers a more compact design.

Before making your decision, compare the specifications, storage options and prices to find a model that suits your needs and budget. Check the latest listings for updated prices, promotions and stock availability, as these may change over time
